Whether you decide to drive part time as a side hustle, a few hours a day after work and on weekends or you go all in driving full time, you always want to make the most of it.
By maximizing your potential, I don’t just mean your earning potential but also quality use of your time while waiting for your next trip request. Don’t just cruise around empty or necessarily drive towards areas with high demand if you’re not close enough to get there within 5 mins. Don’t just play silly games on your cell to kill the time. What I would highly recommend and love to do on a slow days myself, is to either read some good book on self development, life hacks and innovations or listen to a podcast of my interests such entrepreneurship, business and social media marketing. There is so much to learn in order to better our lives so we have even more freedom and flexibility than driving Uber. Isn’t that we all want more of for ourselves and our families so we have more time to spend with them, doing things we truly love? I absolutely do and hope that’s your ultimate goal too!
Here are some examples of my favorite books to read & podcasts to listen to: The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss is a book full of useful and actionable tips on how to escape 9-5, live anywhere and join the new rich. After reading this book my perspective on being an employee changed dramatically and thankfully empowered me to start building my own businesses.
The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard a book of 9 declarations to claim your personal power and staying motivated. Find your personal freedom with this awesome read!
Last but not least The Peak by a publisher of Success magazine Darren Hardy is a book that will definitely help you jump start your income, your life and your success. Just read this book recently, but I’m already starting to see the difference in shift of my mindset, task prioritizing, focus and much more clearly realizing how valuable my time is put into perspective how irresponsible we often waste it.
Podcast I love to listen to lately is Smart Passive Income by Pat Flynn, you can simply click on this link or what’s even easier is to look it up in iTunes on your iPhone or in Google Play if you have android. You will learn how to build your brand from scratch and start your own business. Many great topics to choose from which I truly believe you’ll love if you have that entrepreneurial mindset like most of us Uber drivers.
The Brendon Show by Brendon Burchard, yes it is the same man as I recommended for a read above. It is #1 New York Times best-selling author and the world’s leading high performance coach. From his podcast you will learn how to perform at your very best, how to live the charged life, self-improvement, health, well-being and much more useful concepts for your personal growth.
Of course none of us go out driving expecting to read books or listen to a podcast and make no or very little money. Unfortunately there will always be slow days every now and then, especially when we don’t know what’s going on throughout our city. Whether there is some snow or rainstorm coming, sport games playing or some music concerts happening on a given day, these events will undoubtedly affect your earnings. That’s why I think you should be well prepared for slow days when you only get very few trips, so you don’t get disappointed by a complete waste of your time. Why not to learn something you can implement in your personal and professional life instead?
